it is possible to see this movie through without shedding

This
tragic masterpiece by Studio Ghibli ("My Neighbor Totoro,"
"Spirited Away," and "Princess Mononoke")
is based on the semi-autobiographical novel by Akiyuki Nosaka,
winner of the Naoki Award for literature.
"Grave
of the Fireflies" is by far one of the best films I've
every seen. The film was released in 1988. The Japanese animated
feature is based on the award-winning semi-autobiography,
"Hotaru no Haka," by Akiyuki Nosaka. The film is
perhaps the most mature and sobering drama ever created. Moviegoers,
including anime fans, have passed up the opportunity to watch
this film to preview something else. I was also guilty of
doing so until my wife suggested watching it in the spring
of 2000. Although the film was painful and heartbreaking to
watch, it illustrates the reality of war, young pride, and
love. I realize that there are moviegoers (especially you
tough guys out there) who prefer not to watch sensitive and
depressing films, but I promise you, the film ends on a very
sweet note. I highly recommend this film to everyone.
Those
who have seen "Grave of the Fireflies," have said
that it is truly one of a kind. A must see.
Cheers
